Acura MDX Vs Lexus RX 350L Comparison Review

The RX 350L, introduced in 2018, is an elongated version of Lexus' best-selling luxury SUV, the RX 350. While the new version of the RX offers seating up to seven, it doesn't have the cabin space or cargo room that's available with its main rivals, like the MDX. This vehicle performs noticeably worse than the standard RX 350 for acceleration and braking, falling behind the segment, but it is still a Lexus and the ride quality is still smooth and fun. Advanced safety features are also included. If you leave the third-row stowed, the interior is luxurious and roomy. However, raising the third-row seats actually reduces the room for the second and third-row, making it a tight fit for anyone but children in either row. We'd like to see a true re-design of the RX in the future to be truly competitive in the three-row luxury SUV segment. Stretching the wheelbase and making a few changes just didn't do the job.

Thanks to a constant stream of new updates, the Acura MDX continues to dominate as a top choice in the three-row luxury SUV segment, despite not having a full re-design in several years. With a large, comfortable cabin, plenty of cargo space, and advanced safety features standard, the MDX is the perfect family vehicle. The MDX base engine is a 290 horsepower V6, so the MDX has plenty of power, even with the base model. Alternatively, there is an available V6 hybrid engine for improved fuel-efficiency. All MDX's have available super handling all-wheel drive (SH-AWD). Overall, the MDX is a leading option for three-row luxury SUVs!

Ready to Drive a Superior Luxury Three-Row SUV for Less?

We love luxury SUVs like the Lexus RX 350L, but the MDX has better acceleration, better handling, more space, more cargo room, more comfort, and is less expensive.
